Continuing on with the sound system measurements, this time we will be taking a look at sound system in the Kia EV6. There are two different models of speaker systems in the EV6: an un-branded base model and a higher spec Meridian-branded model. As is commonly done with car marketing speak, the brochure characterises these two models based on the number of speakers and speaker types.
Measurements
Same as last time, REW and a UMIK-1 wil be used to measure the response with the sound played through a Bluetooth connection to the car. Measurements were taken at head level in each corner seat of the car. The measurements can be downloaded here.
Looking at the figure below, we have the response in the driver’s seat traced in red and the response in the passenger seat traced in green. Evidently, the responses vary quite a bit between the two seats particularly around the mid frequency range. Seeing as there is no subwoofer in this car, the sub-bass extends decently well. The upper treble region is slightly emphasised which can lead to some female vocals sound a bit too sibilant.

Similarly, the response in the rear seats also vary somewhat, though to a lesser extent than in the front. As is typically the case with car sound systems, the rear speakers will sound lesser than the front.

Conclusion
Between this sound system and the one in the Model Y, my preference would be the Model Y largely owing to its neutral and unoffensive presentation. That being said, the speakers in the EV6 is passble for my liking, particularly in comparison to some of the other shortcomings of the car (like that digital instrument cluster!).
